Two magnificent Bavarian castles

The palaces, castles and fortresses of Europe are always interesting to Jordan because there are so few in South Africa. We have been lucky enough to have visited two of the most spectacular monuments in Bayern (Bavaria), Germany: Nymphenburg Palace and Neuschwanstein Castle. Both are magnificent Bavarian castles and deserve some of your time.

Robberg Nature Reserve

Hello dear voyagers! In this post, we introduce you to one of our most loved places in South Africa being home to one of our favourite hikes: Robberg Nature Reserve in the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay. Along the famous Garden Route, a mere 8 km south is this beautiful paradise, part of the Cape Nature reserves.

The Robberg Nature Reserve hike is well known and is treasured by locals and visitors alike. We have hiked Robberg numerous times, even making day trips to Plett from PE or staying the weekend in the town; making the hike an epic micro-adventure or a fun weekend getaway fitting in with your time and budget opportunities.

Our love for the hike and the photos we have shared has encouraged friends to join the hike with us and experience its unique magnificence for themselves. This phenomenal peninsula is one of Earth’s extraordinary meetings of terrestrial and aquatic worlds, forming a special place in our hearts and yours too if you decide to hike it.

Czeching out Prague in a day

On this voyage, we take to you the charming city of Prague. Often time in a city is short, whether the destination is a layover or a short stop-over. This was Prague for us – a short stop-over that left us with one full day to explore a city full of history and the cultural hub of Czech Republic.

Sunday lunch at Zuurberg Mountain Village

Welcome to our blog! In this post, we are taking you to the mesmerising Zuurberg Mountains for a fun Sunday Lunch. Winters in Port Elizabeth can be dreadfully cold (read as anything below 20 °C leaves us sunshine coasters frozen) with the PE wind chilling you to the bone. Our micro-adventure to have buffet Sunday lunch at Zuurberg Mountain Village was on a particularly cold day (okay, this day was genuinely really cold – 12 °C) but we were still up for an adventure! After the call with Delwen and Sean, we layered up and set off. This trip was our first time to Zuurberg and it definitely will not be our last!
